Abstract Encaustic Mixed Media
Encaustic medium is made out of (filtered) beeswax and natural dammar resin, melted and mixed together.
Adding suitable pigments to it creates encaustic paint.
Several layers can be added, that are fixed by heat after application. It can be combined with any kind of material or substance that doesn’t contain water (wood, paper, oils, metallic foils, textiles etc.).
It can also be collaged or sculpted.
Ancient and Avand-Garde
This painting style combines classical substances (also used in Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire) with intuitive experimental techniques, generating highly topical abstract results.
Creative Perspective
I define myself as an abstract self-taught painter because I chose to express visually with fluidity, honesty and courage, freeing myself of the classical rules’ rigidity, by adapting old techniques in the so varied and allowing contemporary environment.
All that I am is focused in the eternal present moment; through energy, emotion, thought and action. Whenever I choose to manifest myself creatively, everything blooms. The sense, purpose and direction reveal themselves with ease, inspiration, enthusiasm and (sometimes surprising) ability.
Humans’ creativity is a part of their nature. It doesn’t seem to be a trifle; but a need on a wider plane than that of the physical survival on this planet.
At my “beginnings” as a painter, whenever I made a “mistake”, I used to tell myself: there are no mistakes in art. Now I have integrated that affirmation, and I no longer doubt the Higher Intelligence that guides me. Every single time I choose to relax and to adapt to the current circumstances, the mistakes become pleasant surprises, by the outcomes they create/provide. This is one reason I choose intuitive painting; to allow the Universe to express itself through me at a level that sometimes overtakes my comprehension capability at the moment of creation.
From my point of view the paintings are portals, mirrors and windows that unlock buildings’ and people’s walls. The stories of the organic, complex and detailed shapes can appear different, considering the mood or openness of the observer. But regardless of these, they feed Beauty and Truth.
