Photo Mixed Media Encaustic
The paintings don’t require framing and are delivered with hanging system already installed.
They also come with a certificate of authenticity and care instructions.
I discovered encaustic medium right after graduating the Photo-Video classes at the National University of Arts in Bucharest.
What attracted me initially was the possibility of creating photo collages, and also the ability to continuously shape the images made with encaustic by simply reheating it (I still describe this medium as an analogue Photoshop).
The initial explorations unraveled a deep passion for painting. I have been drawing since I can remember; the graphic expression was always a part of my life, but it was then when I understood just how important it actually was for me.
Now, after more than 10 years of painting and experimenting with encaustic, I have developed an unique, personal approach that combines my passion for photography with that of intuitive abstract painting.
The background images are hand painted using various mediums such as gouaches, watercolors, pencils, inks, markers etc., to which I attach photographs using transparent encaustic.
The possibilities are endless: human or animal portraits, plants, landscapes, objects, symbols. This medium allows also for further interventions over the applied photographs.
I love creating custom images (on demand) as I consider it to be a wonderful way to connect with people and to contribute to the beauty in their lives.
The prices of the paintings vary considering the complexity and size of the projects.
