The Hummingbird

The title of the painting is the name of the photographed guitar (a Gibson Hummingbird).
Music has been, is and will always be appreciated and present in my life (including while I am writing this text 😊), but I have to admit that the first time I heard this acoustic guitar I was deeply impressed.
That’s why it has been a real honor and joy to create this painting with the intention of visually translating the vibrant, gentle and at the same time powerful sounds that have opened new perceptions for me.

On a MDF board with black wooden frames I have used gouaches and watercolors using various applying techniques (such as brushes, painting knifes and a heat gun). The contours of the organic shapes made by white gouache have been accentuated with markers. The black and white photo of the guitar has been attached using encaustic medium, that uniformly covers the entire image.
