The human mind is the main channel generally used for communication: verbal, non-verbal or written, by translating the symbols the brain perceives into easy to understand and accept messages, in a conscious or unconscious way.
The outer world reflects with clarity and without discrimination the inner world, giving clues and results regarding one’s chosen approach. Neutral and honest observation is a valuable key in finding our way through the not at all boring labyrinth called life.
Made on canvas on chassis, this painting is evoking the human mental experience, so complex and rational, but also sometimes confusing without clear and definite markers. The inner dialogue can often be considered a priority and a present-day compass in decision making.
The background image was created using several painting mediums (watercolors, gouaches, markers, pencils, ink etc.) uniformly covered in transparent encaustic medium; it has as “main character” a pawn (chess piece), made with the intention of enhancing the resemblance with a human torso.
The specific inner algorithm of each individual is similar to a personalized labyrinth, with symbols, beliefs and definitions based on personal experiences and shaped by subjective perspectives.
