Organic Encaustic Mixed Media

The name “organic” is referring first and foremost to the technique used in the making of these abstract paintings, nu just to the image’s appearance.

An authentic fluid manifestation, in which intuition, not logic, comes first in making decisions regarding the shapes, colors and layout of the pigments. With relaxed, but confident gestures, the images form “by themselves”, in surprising and harmonious ways.

These paintings have the special quality of generating shapes that could be interpreted as messages, without my personalized and rational intervention. Faces, animals or other symbols appear as answers or stories. I encourage the viewers to look at the with an open heart and mind, to play through their own imagination and to observe what each image reveals to them.

The background images are created using this technique, other details and contrasts being later added, with attention and carefulness, using every painting medium that I have (watercolors, gouaches, inks, pencils, markers, pastels etc.). Everything is then covered in transparent encaustic.
